RB26DETT Engine Build @ Whitehead Performance – Examining the RB26DETT N1 Engine Block

Another project Whitehead Performance is working on right now.   RB26DETT engine from the orange 1972 Datsun 240Z featured on the website is out of the car and we’re building a stronger bottom end.    First piece of the puzzle is a brand new OEM RB26DETT N1 engine block:

Rb26DETT N1 Block SideThe N1 block is a thicker casting than the regular RB26 block and has improved oil and coolant passages for better oiling and cooling, especially at high rpms (10,000+ rpm)

Next time Whitehead Performance assembles the rotating assembly with some interesting parts.
